David Bragonier, The son of Peter & Margaret Brockunier Sr. was born 6 November 1767 in Frederick, Washington Co, Maryland. David married Catherine Hetrick in 1788. When David died in 1814, aged 46, his youngest son Daniel was given to his older brother Samuel Bragonier to be his legal guardian. None of my records mention David's wife Catherine in 1814. The other two children were also under age at the time of David's death in 1814.

Orphans Court Records, Bedford County Pennsylvania Court house August 1827, show David's last name spelled "Brucuner" (also David Bragunier) Source: Marian Louise Turner Matchett, 51 Columbia Street Jackson, Ohio 45640.

Britain Bragunier Robinson states in his book "The Bragunier Family" 1969 that David's will was administered on Oct 12, 1814 and his name was spelled Bragonier. His will states that his personal items were sent to his sons Samuel, David & Jacob "Bragunier", and a few items given to Gullip (or Bodlib) Zimmerman. The only records of "Distribution of Estate" was that of David Bragunier. Administrators of David's estate 12 Oct 1814 were his son Samuel, and someone named John Harry (connection to the family is unknown.) Those mentioned in David's estate were his children Samuel, David, Jacob, Daniel, and Elizabeth. This was not a will, only the closing of his estate. David left an estate valued at $589.59.

Jacob (John) Bragonier born 28 Oct 1793, Washington Co, Maryland.

Barbara Rohrer Bragonier born 8 Apr 1794, Washington Co, Maryland; died 19 Jul 1811 Hagerstown, Maryland.

Barbara died single aged 17. This Barbara Rohrer Bragonier has been mistaken for Daniel Brockunier's wife, since Daniel's wife was also named Barbara thus some genealogists erroneously thinking that Daniel's wife died in 1811.
