A) Norfolk County pioneers were the first white people in the Long Point Settlement of Upper Canada on the north shore of Lake Erie. Many were United Empire Loyalists and their descendants, who fled the United States following the American Revolution.  Peter Procunier JR and his family fled to Canada to remain loyal to the King, where many of his descendents remain today. Professional genealogist R. Robert Mutrie specializes in the earliest days of Upper Canada in general, and the Long Point Settlers in particular. He is the author of Long Point Setters, an encyclopedic reference to the surviving historical record of these pioneers. He also edits a quarterly Long Point Settlers Journal which profiles Norfolk's first families and their culture and society. These Long Point Settler web pages (Norfolk Genealogy) concentrate on the people and events of Norfolk County's first quarter century, 1790 - 1815.

After (clicking) above on the Norfolk Genealogy hyperlink, Click on Long Point Settlers (second blue button from the top. Then Click on the "New" Thumbnail Bio's and you will see some of our "PROCUNIER FAMILY". Click on whomever you want information for!

R. Robert Mutrie emailed us (10/18/97) saying The October Long Point Settlers Journal is going out now and he will advertise on the renewal sheet that there will be some Procunier data in the next volume. I encourage all of you to take a look at R. Robert Mutrie's Journal!!...... DCP

C) Norfolk Historical Society ...  For those of you who are the decendants of Peter Procunier Jr, Norfolk is where Peter located after leaving the USA in 1803.  The Norfolk Historical Society operates the Eva Brook Donly Museum in Simcoe. The building is owned by the Town of Simcoe. The Museum, with its Glorious Old Norfolk Gallery, is furnished in the 1860's era in the old 1840's Mulkins-Donly home. It is a major centre for Archival and Genealogical research.

D) The Center for Media & Democracy is a nonprofit, public interest organization dedicated to investigative reporting on the public relations industry. The Center serves citizens, journalists and researchers seeking to recognize and combat manipulative and misleading PR practices. The Center for Media & Democracy produces what Daniel Zoll of the San Francisco Bay Guardian calls "some of the best investigative reporting around."
