William H. Bragunier; son of William Bragunier (1812-1893) & Caroline Grumbine (1816-1851); William was born on 18 Jun 1837 in Dayton Montgomery County, Ohio; died single in 1864 at Varnell's Station GA while serving in the Civil War.

Official death was "Klled in Action" 1864, at Varnell's Station Georgia during the Civil War

Pvt. Company B, 2nd Cavalry Regiment Indiana; enlisted at Indianapolis Sept 20, 1861, missing in action at Varnell's station May 9, 1884.  Also listed as a prisoner of War, residence unknown.  In volume IV, Indiana Adjutant General Report 1861-1865 page 72, William's residence is given as Marion County, Indiana when he was mustered in on April 22, 1861 & mustered out on August 4, 1861 at expiration of term. 11th Regiment Infantry Company K, 3 months service Volunteers.  (Lincoln only called up troupes at that time for a 90 day term)  Records mainly from A.G.O.
